Is There Global Cooling?

Is There Global Warming?
Welcome........
I am not a scientist and do not pretend to be. But, I have been watching the issue of climate change now for two decades and have found it is not what many say it is. Here are a collection of articles, sources, and information. Use it if you like. Hopefully it will encourage you to seek your own truth since this is one of the great issues of our time.

The New Green Deal has been proposed and we have but 12 years to save the planet. Is this proposal a serious one, what are the ramifications if it is implemented, are they just, and can we afford it?

Running this model, we found that overhauling America’s economy - as envisioned in the Green New Deal - would abate global warming by approximately 0.2 degree Celsius by the year 2100. The reduction in sea-level rise would be less than 2 centimeters.

Chakrabarti had an unexpected disclosure. “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal,” he said, “is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all.” Ricketts greeted this startling notion with an attentive poker face. “Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Chakrabarti continued. “Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.” wash post link

Germany 100Pct renewable, every rooftop solar, 600 foot wind turbine every 1.5 km, and no power when no wind and sun. wind/sun only supply 2.5% of energy needs today link
If the U.S. were able to completely eliminate carbon emissions, the resulting temperature reduction would only be .137 degrees Celsius by the year 2100, as calculated with the same model used by the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
A storage system that provides just 12 hours of storage throughout the U.S. would cost over $2.5 trillion.
The study, which analyzed almost 3,000 turbines, found that twice as much electricity is generated in the first year after construction than is generated 15 years after construction. The same study found the bigger the wind farms, the more efficiency declines. This means that soon after we finish building all the wind turbines needed to get to 100 percent renewable electricity generation, assuming it can be completed in ten years, we’ll have to begin the process of replacing all the turbines.
And after that cycle of replacement is completed, we’ll have to start replacing the solar panels, which have a lifespan of about 25 years. The lifespan of a coal or nuclear plant, in comparison, is 40 years, though nuclear plants may be able to operate for twice as long as they were originally designed.
On an annual basis, this would add between $576 and $3,832 in electricity costs for the average household
In order to transition 100 percent of our electricity generation to wind and solar, we would need 115 million acres of land, over 5 percent of all land in the United States.
Wind turbines require 800 metric tons of concrete to construct their foundation.
Solar farms have been known to melt the wings of thousands of birds, generate 300 times more toxic waste than nuclear energy and increase nitrogen trifluoride emissions, a greenhouse gas that is 17,000 times stronger than carbon dioxide.
Solar farms also require up to 5,000 times more land than nuclear plants and 10-15 times 7 more concrete, cement, steel and glass, putting increased demand on the minerals needed to create solar farms.
Adding hundreds of millions of electric powered vehicles would also put a huge amount of additional stress on the electric grid, since each vehicle owner will need to be able to charge their electric car. A recent study found charging 60,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in Texas at the same time, which amounts to only .25 percent of vehicle registrations, equates to the current peak demand of the grid.

If we reduces US CO2 30% below 2005 level by 2030, temp decrease would be only 0.018 deg C by 2100. link
1) there had been no statistically significant atmospheric warming despite a continued increase in atmospheric CO2 levels; 2) changes in global temperatures in recent decades were far from unusual; 3) new balloon and satellite data showed that the atmosphere was far less sensitive to CO2 forcing than the climate models had predicted; and 4) there was mounting evidence that EPA’s greenhouse gas rules would have no discernible climate impact

To see if this is true, we turned to another tool: the Model for the Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Induced Climate Change. Developed at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, this model assesses how much increases and decreases in greenhouse gas trajectories will affect global temperatures and sea levels.

Yea, for a supposed fraction of a degree less warming at the end of the century, we need to stop using airplanes, get rid of cows, close nuclear plants, rebuild every building in the nation to make them energy efficient, give everyone a guaranteed wage (whether they want to work or not).....unionize all jobs, we would lose hundreds of thousands of jobs.....the cost of energy would skyrocket.
To rebuild every building in America within twelve years......there are 90 million houses alone....20,500 would have to be rebuilt every single day for 12 years, this would require many millions of construction workers.
Benefits zero, cost 96 trillion and counting.
US emits about 14% of world's CO2, if you do nothing about the other 86%, the other nations will just watch this country become another Venezuela. Probably would reduce CO2 emissions but the consequences would be catastrophic.
Wall Street Journal, "The Case for the Green No Deal", 4/12/19
There is no known or demonstratable 'optimal' level of CO2 in the atmosphere. There is no known or demonstratable 'optimal' average global temperature. The climate is always changing.
Some use climate change as a stalking horse to advance a socialist agenda. System change not climate change. Some look for business or rent-seeking opportunities from stroking panic over the climate. All of this noise crashes into the realities of immense and growing emitions driven by the desire of poor people around the world to achieve a higher standard of living.
Definition of socialism...
Socialism is a set of artificial socio-economic systems that embody a lofty aspiration of people to achieve a just and prosperous society, which is characterized by a degree of socialization of property and consciousness, scales of economic planning, and wealth redistribution and imposed onto the community by the revolutionary or governmental elites without the consent of the population.
Definition communism.....
Communism is a man-made socio-economic system that embodies a lofty aspiration of people to achieve a just and prosperous society. It suggests a full socialization of private property, complete collectivization of consciousness, worldwide economic planning, and wealth redistribution according to any needs and imposed onto the community by the revolutionaries without the consent of the population.
